Erica Putis grew up in a small town in Vermont where the grass was green and the winters cold. During this time, she wandered for hours around her family’s 20 acres, continuously in awe of nature and her surroundings. Creating was always something that happened and never stopped even when she grew up.
She created clothes for her Barbies and sold jewelry to her fellow fourth graders. She won drawing contests and illustrated peers’ stories. In high school, Erica refined her craft and ventured into wood sculpture, painting, realist drawings, intricate beading work and theater. It was at 18 that she sold her first art piece to her high school, which was one of the first in their private collection. She contemplated going to college for art but decided to venture into music and theater.
During her time in college and for many years following, she lived in Massachusetts while pursuing a music career. In 2005 she and her band traveled across country and landed in sunny San Diego, CA. During her time in San Diego, she continued writing music with various bands and got back into painting. It was also during this time that she created her clothing business, natural skin products, started writing books and planning events.
With the support and help of her brother, a published author himself, she found writing a fascinating and fun creative outlet. She self-published her first book, entitled, “The Girl of the Song” in 2017, which is a young adult fairy-tale and participated in Tuscon, AZ’s 2017 Festival of Books. In 2020, she wrote and self-published a short travel book, entitled, "Trip into the Almost Unknown" about her trip across country. She lived in Bennington, Vermont for four years but decided to move near family and now resides in Tucson, Arizona. She is currently working on her first novel. Erica’s fascination with art, music, fantasy and science has her imagination reeling with story ideas that she hopes other will enjoy as much as she enjoys writing them.
